The Chinese Primer is a textbook for beginning Chinese students. It includes concentrated training of ear and tongue in the sound system of Chinese, as well as natural dialogues that train students in the basics of Chinese grammar and vocabulary.

The CLP's Chinese Primer Audio Recordings (available in USB format) cover all lessons in the Chinese Primer, as well as the foundation work found at the beginning of the text. Institutional copies are also available, and come with a license agreement authorizing limited distribution and reduplication rights.

Note: Although Audio Recordings are for the old edition of the Chinese Primer, not the Revised Edition, it is still possible to use the Audio Recordings with the Revised Edition. This is because the changes in the Revised Edition were largely cosmetic (technology has improved a lot since the original publication of the old edition). The content of the two editions is almost entirely the same. At this point, we have no immediate plans to release a new set of Audio Recordings for the Revised Edition.
